Congratulations to Our Four New Assistant Instructors

We are thrilled to announce that four of our talented youth sailors have successfully passed their Assistant Instructor (AI) qualification in April. A big round of applause goes to Orson, Jack, Nova, and Victor for their dedication and hard work!
The training was expertly run by Duncan Oakden and Tim Taylor. On the Saturday, our sailors learned skills to support Dinghy Instructors (DIs) on the water. Unfortunately, the weather on Sunday forced the training to be land-based, but this did not deter our determined young minds.
Throughout the course, they learned essential skills to support our dinghy instructors at Bugs Youth Sailing. They practised land-based drills, demonstrating how to tack and gybe, and also performed man overboard drills. Their commitment and enthusiasm were evident, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.
As newly qualified Assistant Instructors, they will now play a crucial role in supporting our Bugs training sessions. We look forward to seeing them inspire and guide the next generation of sailors at Worthing Sailing Club.
The club is now planning the next AI training course.
